Raj Darbari-Linares

International Director

Raj Darbari-Linares is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with experience as a Business analyst and Project manager. He spent the early part of his career working at Buyside institutions such as BlackRock, Barclays and Schroders in the UK and more recently spent the last 3 years working and living in Hong Kong.
Since 2024 he has wanted to focus his time and energy to help tackle water scarcity and using technology to create lasting change that can break the cycle intergenerational poverty.

Key Skills

Financial Analysis

Raj has spent over a decade at leading financial organisations from Banks, to Asset managers and Insurers. Whilst studying for his CFA qualification he mastered financial statement analysis and budgetary planning.

Project Management

Realising the need to have a structured framework for charitable projects that could borrow insights learned from financial services, he set about to hone his project management skills with a heavy focus on execution and scenario planning to make sure projects are delivered on time, within budget and anticipate problems before they occur. 

Technology for Productivity

As an early adopter of the first iPhone, a crypto trader since 2016, and now exploring AI, he has witnessed the rapid growth of technology and its power to connect and inform. He aims to leverage these skills to modernise charities and help provide African children with opportunities equal to those in the Western world.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance Accounting

He studied at the University of Nottingham, completing a Finance Accounting and management degree in 2010. He earned his CFA designation in 2013 and became an accredited PMI Project Manager in 2023.

Financial Consultant

After working for AIA in Hong Kong in 2023, he felt the need to have a bigger impact and took the decision to leave the financial sector in 2023 to focus on charitable endeavours that have a grassroots impact.

International Director

Serving as the international director of Amanah foundation his role is to raise awareness of the charity, fundraise, and most importantly find corporate partners who want to utilise their corporate social responsibility budgets to have maximum impact in areas that need the most assistance.
